LID

Long ago, I had read a novel ‘The ants and the sugar’. There was a farmer. He had kept one-quintal sugar in an open container for his daughter Nita’s marriage. At that time, managing more sugar was very tough task. On important occasions, you would have to manage permit from block or subdivision. Ordinary persons were not capable to manage. Only a very qualified, matured, clever, and political person who always visited block and subdivision was capable to manage it. So, the farmer had managed the sugar in advance. He forgot to lid it. The result was obvious. After sometime, there was no sugar in the container. Ants ate it.
Nita was very beautiful and meritorious. She always topped in the class. But, some minus points were also in her. She was very simple, gentle, and sweet, which are great demerits and enemies of a beautiful woman. To increase importance and protect beauty of scented and beautiful flowers, the nature has made thorns around them and their availability tough. We get medicinal plants on the difficult Himalayas, jewels in the bottom of sea, mani (jewel) in the cobra, kasturi in deer, lions in the dense forest and saints in remote caves. Nita had none of these weapons. Nita had some other demerits also. She always acted to have positive remarks by others about her. She never acted according to her own decision. She always saw her in the mirrors of other’s eyes. She was so gentle that there was never ‘no’ on her tongue. She was always smiling. Naturally, she came in close contact of so many boys. Some were good but some bad also. The farmer was careless and very ignorant about his daughter. He settled her marriage with a doctor. But alas! Just one day before her marriage, she fled with a notorious boy.
