THE RING

The ring

Dharam Bhaiya was working in Hanuman-nagar sugar mill. He was very popular and gentle. He was a very spiritual person. Seeing his keen interest in worshiping gods and reciting rhymes, the owner of the sugar mill built a decent hanuman temple and put him there as the priest. He freed him from the mill’s duty.

I am giving a brief introduction of Daram Bhaiya. His father was G. Jha. He was living at village Chakauti. He married K.Thakur’s granddaughter Anandi. She was his second wife. His first marriage was some other place. The first wife died earlier leaving some children. On the request of renowned Thakur family, he began to live at Karmauli. His earlier grown up children remained at Chakauti. I have seen them on so many important occasions.

At Karmauli G. Jha had three children, one daughter and two sons from Anandi. The daughter Bhagvati was the eldest. She was married toB. Jha of village Sukki. B. Jha’s father K. Jha was the richest person of the village. Those days, having elephant on the door was the sign of richness and he had it. Whenever he came to Karmauli, he brought his elephant and we rode on it. He was my maternal grandfather. His grandson Sadanand was my fast friend. The reserves seldom give better result for children. When we were busy in studies, Sadanand was enjoying luxurious life. He is not doing job but he is himself a big land owner who can employ so many unemployed. Dharam Bhaiya was younger to Bhagvati but three years older than his 2nd brother G. Bhai. Dharam Bhai was not so qualified. He had visited high school and knew some English also. He had good knowledge of Karmakand and daily worshipping. I was a student of middle school and curious to learn more and more. When someone visited Karmauli I with my friends gathered and talked a lot. Dharam Bhaiya asked some new things like what was the meaning of ‘to stop train pull chain’ since he read it in train journey. Other questions were ‘where is nine (na-in Hindi) in Durga-Saptasati; where is murga (cock) in Durga etc.’

Once Hanman Sugar Mill owner’s son came to Karmauli with Dharam Bhaiya. He was a new face for rural people. Children and youths of our tola always surrounded him. He and the villagers enjoyed each other’s conversation. I heard about him and joined the group. He became my close friend. Before my meeting he was a little bit afraid from the village people regarding cheating and stealing about his valuables. But seeing my behavior he became fearless. He gave his valuable ring to me. I was a simple clever less village child and simply thought it a symbol of deep friendship. I visited so many important places with him and some other people, near to our village like Dokahar, Janakpur, Dhadhahara gachhi etc. and enjoyed too much. He was a good singer and sang on musical instrument harmonium. We also accompanied him. After one week he was to depart. We were very sad. His departure time was early in the morning. I had gone somewhere. When I came home, heard that he had gone to catch a bus from Kaluahi, the nearest bus stop. I was very sorry. His valuable ring was with me. I didn’t understand whether he had given the ring to take care or had given as a gift. I at once started to Kaluahi. He was in the bus and the bus was to start. I entered the bus and reached to him. I was preparing to give him his ring. But, to my bad luck, he asked for the ring before my telling. I quickly gave it to him and came down saying him good-bye. The bus started and we came home. Whenever I remember the event I feel ashamed. Had I given the ring before his asking about it, it would have been the best.----OHM NAMO BHAGVATE SRI RAMANAY.

सेवा

SEVA (SERVICE)
‘Jo paalna dulaatee hai, duniyaa par raaj kartee hai (One who shakes the cradle, rules the world).’ Chhatrapati Shivajee gave all credits to his mother for his elevation. Services are the key to rule and conquer. Wife rules over husband due to services. She cooks food, tames children, washes clothes, cleans rooms and does all services. Thus, she conquers the heart of her husband. This is permanent way to rule. All other ways are temporary. Hanuman is worshipped due to adopting the path of services. Sita, Savitree, Anusuiya are famous only due to services. Yamraj (the god of death) was bound to leave the soul of Satyavan due to services of Savitree to her husband. One can win in the battle due to power and force the defeated person to obey temporarily. However, permanent winning is to win the heart and the way is only to serve.
Sympathy is better than gold. One can help anybody by giving money. It can be repaid. Another man serves and cures. It cannot be repaid.
Services motive reduces ego while money helping increases it. Elimination of ego is the ultimate gist of all religions and preaching of all thinkers.
Helping and pouring grace are always good but worshipping the people with the notion of Shiva,s form is optimum.---Ohm Namo Bhagvate Shri Ramanay.

कर्म-फल सिद्धांत.

KARMA-FAL SIDDHANT
‘Jaisee karnee waisee bharnee.’ As you sow, so you reap. ’Rope per babool ka, aam kahan te khay.’ ‘Karm pradhan vishwa kari rakha, jo jas karahi so tas fal chakha.’ People say that one gets the return of deeds of this life in next life, after death. Imagination of rebirth is on this very basis. However, I say that one gets the return in this very life also. Some deeds are stored and one gets the return in next birth. Students who labour hard get better result and job soon. The lazy’s results are bad and they remain unemployed.
Sometimes, I see exception. The ill doers seem to be in the better position and the gentle persons are in wretched condition. These are the results of past life deeds. Maharshi Raman gets sudden enlightenment at the age of 16. Before that, there was no special sign in this side and he was neither performing any penance. Lord Krishna starts doing miracles from the very time of his birth. Ram came with all power from the very beginning. Ram Krishna Paramhans, Vivekanand, Shankaracharge, Ram Sharma Acharge all had their previous lives’ penances’ result. Gautam Buddha had both previous and present penances’ return.
The great villains like Ravan, Kans, Duryodhan etc were terrorizing the whole world. They all were involved in negative activities. They were undefeatable. But, all got return of their deeds and were ruined. Ravan was so powerful that he had imprisoned all gods and was enjoying their shares himself. Kans had put his sister, brother-in-law and even his father in jail. He killed his sister’s seven children just after their birth. Duryodhan had snatched his cousin’s share. Cheating them in gambling, he won their all properties and even their wife, Dropadi. He tried to make Dropadi naked before all courtiers and seniors of the family. He banished his cousins with Draupadi for twelve-year normal forest life and one-year underground life. After completing the banishment, they returned and begged their share. But, Duryodhan refused. Lord Krishna mediated and advised to give them at least five villages for five brothers. ‘Nashahi kaal vinashahi buddhi.’ Duryodhan did not agree to give even needle tip land without battle. ‘Soo agre na datavyam, vina yuddhen keshava.’ Rather he tried to imprison the all-powerful Krishna. When Krishna showed his anger form, he stopped. The result was obvious. There became the great war of Mahabharat between Pandavas and Kauravas. All Kauravas were killed. Yudhishthir sat on the throne.

Saints say that one can diminish or abolish the past deed’s return by penance. Suppose, one person is punished for his offence and is put in jail. In jail, his behavior is like a saint. His punishment is pardoned by the judge. Likewise, the Greatest Judge Almighty pardons our bad deeds. That is why, Ratnakar dacoit becomes the great saint Walmiki and writes the first epic of the universe, the Ramayana and the great king Asoka becomes Buddha’s famous disciple.----------------- Ohm Ramanayaswaha.
